The Natural Speaker.

The idea for the ‘the natural speaker’ derived from the desire to create an absolutely unique, handcrafted speaker for the interior space.

This is the thinking behind their Natural Speaker, hand made from porcelain and a fagot-like bundle of sticks which produces a resonance chamber. The internals are shaped to allow sound to bounce around before exiting, and the exterior looks beautiful in un-smoothed, unglazed porcelain. This lovely video shows the hand-made construction (complete with an oddly violent reverse-smashing section in the middle).

Amplified inside the ceramic and wood transmission construction, the sound gains a slight echo, creating a natural feeling of resonance, resembling the distinct flair of an acoustic instrument right in front of you.

Ceramic Speakers.

When I heard that Joey Roth had once again independently designed and manufactured a product, I wondered if it could live up to his Sorapot design. Priced at $499 these ceramic speakers come with a modified 2024 T-amp and some gold plated plugs. They feature 2 custom built drivers, which deliver an output of 15 W/ channel with sensitivity up to 89 dB. The minimal design strips away all unnecessary items and leaves only the bare essentials, one switch.

That all sounds great, but for $499 you could buy the Bose Companion® 5 multimedia speaker system which is 10x better. (Bose)

"Perfect" iTunes Equalizer.

After messing around with the iTunes equalizer for a good 15 minutes,I am finally satisfied with this configuration. Works great with most genres, though I mainly use it for electronic/alternative tracks. Try it out, I guarantee it will not disappoint.

Fire up iTunes and hit View > Show Equalizer. Don't worry about the preamp, just adjust each band to match the one in the image. Then scroll up and click "Make Preset".  Enjoy!
