DV01 is a bicycle concept aimed towards a contemporary target group, that considers the bicycle to be both a convenient means of transportation and a product with a high aesthetical value. A bicycle is for many people something that you attach to your own personal style, were not only the bicycles function but also its appearance plays a crucial role. The focus of the project has therefore been about finding a balance in the design.
Various specialists at the BMW workshop discovered the original design drawings in the archive collections and conjured up the ghosts from Streamline Moderne’s past. Missing parts were sourced, others were rebuilt, the chrome was polished and the frame was painted black. And the final test, retuning the 1934 BMW motorcycle to the street, proved to be worth the wait nearly three quarters of a century later. - Andrew J Wiener via Bike Exif
Definitely not an eyesore, although the extended stem does look a bit odd.

We spend much of our working lives riding bicycles, but since we never really see them we sometimes take them for granted. Luckily there are clever and talented designers willing to renegotiate our relationship with bikes.

On a recent visit to Sporting Life, I spotted this bike. Being the bike enthusiast that I am*, i quickly became obsessed with this bike. This was until Iwas informed by one of the employees that the Anthem XO had a price tag of around $5000. Hey a guy can dream can't he? Well at least its better then my previous obsession the Holzweg Bike. Still looking for a decent full suspension bike. Have any suggestions?
*glad to say i've completed two 25k runs [Ride for Heard - Toronto] :)
