Tweetie 2.

Untitled

Should I give in and purchase yet another iPhone twitter client?

I have read many reviews praising Tweetie 2 of being the greatest iPhone Twitter client available, but that's what they said about the previous Tweetie, Tweetdeck and TwitterFon (ecofon). All of which were hailed as the best iPhone Twitter clients on the market, each with its own unique features

It's the most polished Twitter app yet, oozing slickness with every swipe. – Gizmodo (Tweetie 2)

Tweetie 2 is stupendulous! translate and email tweets is a nice touch. Add to address book?! awesome. - @mbreitweiser

It is because of these remarkably exaggerated reviews that I question whether Tweetie 2 is really that great of an application. It also makes me wonder why these new features werent included as an upgrade let alone included at all. Nevertheless, if this keeps up I will probably have to purchase this app and see what all the fuss is about.

And how is this app "oozing slickness with every swipe"? And why would you need to translate a tweet and then email it?

I can put you on the list for promo codes when the next build comes out (Apple lets me generate 50 per version).

Let me know if that's ok - thanks!

Brizzly: What Twitter Should Have Looked Liked.

Untitled

Essentially. Brizzly looks alot like the regular twitter web interface that we have all grown to love. But there are some key features that are not included in the regular interface such as retweeting, adding groups, and basic media viewing capabilities. It's basically what you would expect from tweetdeck if it were a web client.

Some of the big features are that Brizzly allows you to create groups out of the users you follow, gives you insights into why certain topics are trending, and threads direct message conversations. It also gives you multiple account access, allows you to save multiple drafts of tweets, and keeps track of where you left off reading in your stream. And it should handle media (pictures and video) in a more seamless way that Twitter itself currently does.

Currently Brizzly is only open to beta users who have invites. I can only offer 10 for now so grab one while you can here.

New Twitter Homepage.

Twitter_new

Twitter has just rolled out the new version of its homepage that new potential users and users who are not logged in will see. The design has been completely overhauled from the previous version which was fairly cluttered (see it at the bottom of the page). This new version is sleek and features trending topics by the minute, hour and day.

Most importantly, the new version features search functionality front and center. This way people who aren’t even Twitter users yet can search for things being said on the service. And results are nicely placed on the same page below the main area.
